Super League is renowned for being a combination of style, speed, power, and pizzazz. It brings together tries that defy the laws of physics with tackles that bring players straight back down to earth.

But who are the players who will be doing this in 2025? Who will be leaping over in the corner to score while somersaulting? Who will be akin to a brick wall in the defensive line? Who will see a pass that nobody else could?

We have picked out 10 star names to keep your eyes firmly on throughout the 30th edition of Super League. These players truly will live up to the competition’s name…

1) Bevan French

Club: Wigan Warriors

Age: 28

Position: Fullback, stand-off

This player simply no needs introduction. Bevan French has been a star in Super League for a while now and he is expected to shine once again in 2025.

With pace to burn and an eye for space, teams always have to come up with a plan of how they will mark the Wigan man, whose attacking flair is lethal when he is on his game.

There are not many players you can say can change a game on their own but French is in that category, his solo effort in the Grand Final 2024 another symbol of his individual creativity that is unmatched.

You wouldn’t look past him being the star that wins it all for Wigan again this year in Super League.

2) Junior Nsemba

Club: Wigan Warriors

Age: 20

Position: Second row, prop

Another Wigan man, Junior Nsemba burst onto the scene in 2024.

He had an incredible year, scoring seven tries, gaining 1,294 metres, with 12 line breaks, 94 tackle busts, and an average of 20.7 tackles made per game.

That earned him a call-up to the England squad and saw him also sign a contract that will keep him at the Warriors until 2030.

Expect power, expect tackle-busting runs, and expect him to lead from the front.

3) Matty Ashton

Club: Warrington Wolves

Age: 26

Position: Winger

Super League’s top tryscorer in 2024, Matty Ashton’s gravity-defying try scoring efforts have left fans of the sport in awe for the past few seasons and over the last 12 months, it felt like he took it up a notch.

Whenever Ashton has his hands on the ball, he looks like he is going to be a threat in attack, sneaking through the tightest of spaces and stepping past even the most agile of players to come up with a miraculous four-pointer.

If the Wolves are going to get a lot of the points on the board in 2025, expect Ashton’s name attributed to a lot of them.

4) Jared Waerea-Hargreaves

Club: Hull KR

Age: 36

Position: Prop

Welcome to Super League, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

With 316 NRL appearances under his belt across 17 seasons plus 33 caps for New Zealand, Hull KR have certainly signed a new leader in Waerea-Hargreaves.

Known for putting his body on the line, when Waerea-Hargreaves comes on for his spells, expect it to take a few players to bring him down and also get ready for him to put in some rib-tickling hits.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge,” Waerea-Hargreaves said. “Those players have gone over there and established themselves and become town heroes.”

Time to see if Warea-Hargreaves can add his name to that list.

5) Mikey Lewis

Club: Hull KR

Age: 23

Position: Stand-off, scrum-half

Now, one man who is a hometown hero for Hull KR is 2024 Man of Steel Mikey Lewis.

Lewis is the player who guides Hull KR around the park and every time you watch him play, you are just waiting for the moment that he comes up with something special.

With how special he has been for his side over recent seasons, the Robins decided to un-retire the No 6 jersey for Lewis to wear in the 2025 season.

The shirt number was originally retired after club legend Roger Millward passed away at the age of 68 in 2016 but now in 2025, Lewis will be playing for his side as Hull KR’s special player with a special number on his back.

His widow Carol Millward said: “Watching Mikey play reminds me very much of Roger’s style of play. I think he’s worthy of it and I’m happy for it to be passed on.”

6) Tristan Sailor

Club: St Helens

Age: 26

Position: Stand-off, full-back

It is fair to say that St Helens have signed an intriguing prospect in Tristan Sailor.

An almost unknown to many, Sailor heads to St Helens on the back of 16 appearances last season for Brisbane Broncos in the NRL.

In some dazzling moments in 2024, Sailor clearly has pace to burn, has an eye for a gap, and wants to light up the competition in the style of the likes of Jai Field, French and Lachlan Lam.

Sailor joins Saints alongside new assistant coach Lee Briers, who coached the 26-year-old at the Broncos, and with the two so accustomed to each other’s attacking styles, we are set to potentially see some fireworks from the ‘entertainers’ in 2025.

7) Kyle Feldt

Club: St Helens

Age: 32

Position: Winger

Unlike Sailor, Kyle Feldt is very much a known prospect with 217 appearances to his name for the North Queensland Cowboys, leaving the club as their record try scorer, scoring 23 tries in 24 matches in the 2024 season.

Feldt is a powerful winger and so when his size is combined with his speed, he is a hard man to stop and Saints fans will be hoping his prolific scoring continues on the other side of the world.

8) Luke Keary

Club: Catalans Dragons

Age: 32

Position: Stand-off, scrum-half

Known as the linchpin for the Sydney Roosters for seven seasons, Catalans have got one heck of a player in Luke Keary.

The Dragons managed to convince Keary to reverse his retirement and with that, they have a certified playmaker in their side, the 32-year-old still putting in mega performances for the Roosters in 2024.

Veteran Keary will lead from the front, move Catalans around the park, and use his rugby league nous to control the game.

One of the talents of his generation in the NRL and one that Super League fans should be very excited to see grace their shores.

9) Marc Sneyd

Club: Salford Red Devils

Age: 33

Position: Scrum-half, stand-off

Marc Sneyd has been a formidable player for 15 years in Super League aand we can expect more of the same in 2025.

Sneyd is renowned for his kicking game and has on many occasion, brought his side back into a contest with a sparkling run, perfectly-weighted kick, or clutch conversion.

While Sneyd’s pastures for 2025 are up in the air due to Salford’s financial difficulties, it is clear that if playing for the Devils or any other Super League club, Sneyd will be the man to shine.

10) Oliver Leyland

Club: Warrington Wolves

Age: 23

Position: Stand-off, scrum-half, full-back

Oli Leyland showed he had talent in abundance playing for London Broncos in Super League in 2024 and now, as a Warrington Wolves player, you can only expect his career to continue on a very steep upwards trajectory.

The Kent-born playmaker contributed 16 try assists for the Broncos in 2024 and made a mark as their goal kicker too with 40 goals.

In his new environment, he will be competing for his place in the starting 13 but, if channelled correctly, that will only see him prosper and become one of the young talents of Super League that everyone is talking about.

“Playing with and learning off the likes of George Williams, and with Sam Burgess as coach as well, will really bring my game on and help push the team forward,” Leyland said after signing with the Wolves.

“I love what they’ve built already under Sam and I can’t wait now to rip in and be a part of it.”
